1948 International Harvester Farmall MD Tractor $5000
The Farmall M tractor was made from 1939 to 1952 by International Harvester. It was a very popular tractor with over 250,000 units produced. The Farmall M was the largest row crop tractor at the time that International Harvester made. It is rated as a three plow tractor with a 248 cid 4 cylinder engine with a 6 volt electrical system. In 1941 IH introduced the MD. This was a diesel version of the M. It would start on gasoline and then when warmed up switched over to diesel.
The precurser to the serial number was FBK for the M, FBKV for the high crop model, FDBK for desiel and FDBKV for high crop desiel.
I believe the fly wheel may need replaced as it makes a grinding sound when trying to start it. Once it gets started, it runs beautifully. I also added a hydraulic pump to the PTO since the belly pump went out quite a few years ago.
